2 min read

Earlier this year, during WWDC, Apple introduced Vision Pro, its first spatial computing device. Despite its scheduled release limited to the US next year, developers worldwide have been actively creating apps for it. Tim Cook, Apple’s CEO, revealed his regular usage and completion of the third season of Ted Lasso on Vision Pro. In a recent interview with The Independent, Cook shared further insights into Apple’s spatial computing device.

The beginning of a new era in computing

Cook conveyed to the publication his conviction that Vision Pro holds the potential to usher in a revolutionary era in computing, akin to the transformative impact the iPhone had in 2007, reshaping the way people communicate and work.

The CEO of Apple noted that Vision Pro has smoothly become a part of his daily routine and has the potential to establish itself as a product setting industry benchmarks. Cook expanded on this, stating, “People’s perspectives vary greatly depending on whether they’ve read about it or experienced it firsthand. I have even greater conviction about the profound impact of spatial computing. Once you’ve tried it, it’s a revelation, and those moments are few and far between in one’s lifetime,” as shared with The Independent.

Although Apple has unveiled Vision Pro, it’s crucial to highlight that the device is still in the development phase. Nevertheless, it carries the potential to be a revolutionary device, altering the way we interact with computers and our environment. Vision Pro features an ultra-high-resolution display system with 23 million pixels spread across two screens. Moreover, it integrates a state-of-the-art R1 chip for real-time environmental perception and an advanced Spatial Audio system for a fully immersive auditory experience.
