How to use ChatGPT on Nothing Phone

While Google Assistant serves as the standard personal virtual assistant on Android smartphones, renowned for its capabilities and user-friendly interface, Nothing Phone users seeking a new generative AI-powered virtual assistant can easily set up ChatGPT. With ChatGPT at your disposal, you can enjoy a reliable assistant capable of providing answers to a wide range of questions.
It’s worth noting that, unlike Google Assistant, you cannot use ChatGPT to set alarms or make calls from your contacts. Instead, ChatGPT provides valuable information on a wide range of topics. However, the chatbot is still unable to access real-time data, so some of its responses may be inaccurate.
To enable this functionality, you must enroll in the ChatGPT beta program via the Google Play Store. This program allows users to add the ChatGPT quick settings shortcut as a widget to their home screen, and it is compatible with both Nothing Phone (1) and Nothing Phone (2), running on Nothing OS 2.0 or a newer version based on Android 13 or Android 14.
How to place the ChatGPT widget on your Nothing Phone’s home screen
To add the ChatGPT shortcut to your Nothing Phone’s home screen, you must be a beta tester of ChatGPT (as the widget shortcut is currently available only in the beta version). After installing the ChatGPT app on your Nothing Phone, open the app and set it up by following the on-screen instructions. If you are a ChatGPT Plus subscriber, you can also log in using the same credentials.
After completing the setup, long-press on the home screen, then choose “widgets” > “quick settings.” Long-press one of the three quick settings icons (available in different sizes) and add it to the home screen. In the next menu, select ChatGPT as the quick settings widget to add a button that provides quick access to ChatGPT’s voice chat without opening the app itself.
Now, you can easily tap the ChatGPT widget on your Nothing Phone to activate the ChatGPT voice search feature. All voice chat conversations are automatically transcribed and saved within the ChatGPT app for future reference.
