Instagram has announced a new feature called “Save on Threads.”
2 min readMeta’s social media platform Threads, a competitor to X (formerly Twitter), is introducing a new feature called ‘Save on Threads,’ which is similar to Instagram’s bookmark feature. This new feature allows users to save posts for later viewing, enhancing the platform’s functionality.
Adam Mosseri has announced the rollout of the ‘Save on Threads’ feature.
In a recent announcement on Threads, Adam Mosseri, head of Instagram, introduced the ‘Save on Threads’ feature, which is now being rolled out more widely. Despite the addition of several features since its launch, the absence of a post-saving option has been notable until now.
How to Utilize the ‘Save on Threads’ Functionality
To save a post on Threads, you can perform the following actions:
Tap the three-dot menu located at the top right corner of the post. From the menu that appears, tap the “Save” button to bookmark the post for later viewing. If you want to remove a saved post, revisit the three-dot menu and select “Unsave.”
How to Access Saved Posts on Threads:
To access saved posts on Threads, users can follow these steps:
- Tap on the profile button located in the bottom bar.
- Click on the two-line menu at the top right corner.
- Select the ‘Saved’ option to display all saved posts.
This section functions similarly to Instagram’s interface, allowing users to conveniently view their saved content. However, as the new bookmark feature is gradually rolling out, it may take some time before it becomes available to all users.
Continuous Improvement of Features
Threads has been consistently adding new features, with Mosseri mentioning ongoing tests for more functionalities. These tests include the ability to save a draft by swiping down on a post and using the camera directly from the composer, enhancing the user experience.
