Samsung could pursue a cost-effective launch strategy for Samsung Galaxy Tab Series
2 min readSamsung might opt for a cost-effective launch strategy for the Galaxy Tab S10 Plus and Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra, with one model potentially featuring a MediaTek SoC.
For several generations, Samsung has consistently introduced three new models of its flagship tablet series. However, the company might take a different approach with its upcoming Galaxy Tab S10 lineup. Instead of launching three models, Samsung could discontinue the base model, offering only the Galaxy Tab S10 Plus and Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra. This shift may be due to the smaller slate’s lack of popularity among consumers. By aligning its strategy with Apple’s latest M4 OLED iPad Pro lineup, which also consists of two models, Samsung would position itself to compete more effectively.
Judging by the renders of the Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra, it appears unlikely that Samsung will introduce a major redesign for the Galaxy Tab S10 Plus either. Additionally, a report from Korea indicates that the base model will not be launched alongside the two premium versions, suggesting a shift in Samsung’s sales strategy. While Samsung is the second-largest tablet maker in the world, the significant market share gap between it and Apple suggests that the two companies operate in vastly different leagues.
Additionally, with Apple introducing advanced display technology called Tandem OLED in the M4 iPad Pro series, Samsung likely realizes it can no longer boast about the superiority of its panels. Consequently, Samsung might explore alternative marketing strategies for the Galaxy Tab S10 Plus and Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra. Previously, a rumor suggested that the smaller model might feature MediaTek’s Dimensity 9300+, as Qualcomm’s increasing chipset prices have made it impractical for Samsung to use them in all versions.
Keep in mind that the Dimensity 9300+ and the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 don’t come close to the M4 in terms of raw performance and efficiency. However, Samsung may be counting on the larger 12.4-inch and 14.6-inch displays and the Android platform to appeal to a broader audience. Although there is no launch date or pricing information available yet, we will share any updates as soon as we receive them. Stay tuned for more information.
